SEMINAR

Join us for a seminar on the Litter Evaluation Report (LER) process—complete with real footage, photos, and live props to teach the basics of temperament and structure evaluation.

You’ll learn:

  • “If this, then what?”—understanding how to apply results to make informed placement and breeding decisions.
  • What an LER is and why it matters for breeders and puppy families.
  • How to prepare for an evaluation to ensure smooth execution.
  • The logistics of running an LER, from scheduling to organization.
  • The evaluation process itself, with a focus on temperament and structural assessment.
  • How to approach write-ups that are both accurate and useful.

About the Presenter

Bridgit Amstrup is a lifelong animal lover and dedicated dog enthusiast. She runs Super Nova Shilohs, a small ISSA breeding program focused on producing confident, socially-driven puppies. Bridgit was drawn to Shiloh Shepherds not only for their beauty but also for the breed community’s strong emphasis on collaboration and responsible breeding practices.

Her first exposure to the Litter Evaluation process came in 2013, where she was impressed by the care and thoughtfulness behind each assessment. Since then, she has attended 56 Litter Evaluations and personally conducted more than 30 of those. Bridgit is passionate about “truly seeing the dog” and ensuring breeders are equipped with clear, meaningful insights to guide placements.

Her work has been shaped by the guidance of personal mentors Anne Becker and Margaret Baumgarner, as well as the influential teachings of Suzanne Clothier, Suzanne Shelton, Jane Messineo Lindquist, Pat Hastings, Joachim and Wendy Volhard. She remains forever grateful to the many breeders who have trusted her to assess their puppies, and who continue to teach her through their experiences.

At home, Bridgit shares her life with three Shilohs—Nova, Zamboni, and Platty—and fondly remembers her beloved Kobuk (RIP), who first inspired her passion for the breed. She is grateful for the support of her partner, Ben, a fellow dog lover who encourages her work (even if he isn’t quite as “all in” as she is).
