Super Nova Shilohs Presents: The Nova/Leaguer Litter!

"Queen" describes Nova to a "T". This little girl commanded the capture of our hearts from the very first day. Nova is super sweet, extremely attentive, bold, brave, and one of the smartest dogs I've had the pleasure of knowing. She's a treasure; our crown jewel and the inspiration for our Kennel name. She is 5 years old and made of sugar! Nova is a daughter out of October/Voltaire 2014.

Leaguer is a big handsome boy! Wicked smart and a rare smooth coated shiloh! Leaguer is also 5 years old and is son to Starr and Yoshi out of Echo Shilohs. This is not the first attempt at breeding Nova to Leaguer. In 2017 we tried AI with dual-sire but he did not take - but this time, according to the ultrasound, we have SUCCESS! We expect to see smooth coats as well as plush in all shades of golden and brown. It looks like a nice big litter, and the pups are expected to make their debut to the world just after the New Year!

Echo Shilohs Presents: The Emmy/Wally Litter!

Emmy is my pick girl from her litter. She has grown into a great example of the Shiloh breed. Emmy is confident, outgoing and a complete goofball. She visited a local dog show with hundreds of dogs and thousands of people and she just hung out and actually tried to sleep during it all. She is an active girl who is constantly wanting to play with her housemates. Emmy definitely inherited that from her mom.

Wally is also a goofball, and loves to talk and narrate. Wally enjoys whatever his human's throw at him and is a confident boy who greets life with enthusiasm. He treats everything like he is a kid going to Disney World for the first time. He is from rarer lines, as this is the only place we have the Rani/Tazer line through his mom, Jazzy. He also has Yoshi in his lines, which carries rare lines as well.

By pairing these two we will get outgoing, funny and sassy puppies that will do well in a more active home that want to take their dogs everywhere and dabble in dog sports and fun games. These puppies will be a combination of smooth and plush coats in varying shades of grey and brown sables.

Dutch Pride Shilohs Presents: The Feylin::Duke Litter!

All pups of this litter are spoken for.

This will be Feylin’s last litter. She is our wonderful girl from Guardian Kennels in Canada, with good size and a wonderful temperament. All pups will be plush-coated, with sables and duals likely. For this last litter, she will be bred to Duke.

Duke's owners say, "Duke is an easy-going dog ​​with a cheerful character who is always ready for a game. He is our second dog and from the beginning he's been big buddies with Juno, our first Shiloh (Shima/Tibor, 2011). He was very curious as a puppy. Every little ant, beetle or other insect had to be sniffed extensively and strolls usually lasted longer than expected! He was also remarkably independent. He wanted to sleep peacefully outside, even if everyone else was inside!

Duke is now five, but because of his cheerful nature he sometimes looks like a puppy--a very large puppy! Because of his soft nature, he is initially somewhat stand-offish to strangers, but after being allowed to sniff, he plunges down somewhere to sleep. Duke is also very easy with walking, both on the leash and on the loose. He does not look at pedestrians, cyclists, cars and the like. However, he is always interested in other dogs, especially if they are poking for a game. On sand paths and in the forest, he often runs loose, keeping a close eye on us. He sometimes wants to take a sprint for a rabbit, but then he has his 'self-control' back within 100 meters.

Duke is, in short, a lovely dog ​​and we could not have imagined a better friend for ourselves, our children and Juno!"

“Feylin is a friendly, very playful dog. Her hobby is playing soccer. She does that, with a toy in her mouth, pushing her nose against a ball. She can then maneuver the ball towards me in a very focused way, hoping that I will kick it away again. During an off leash walk she usually ignores the other dogs and prefers to browse around, but also keeps a close eye on us. She is good with both large and small dogs and also our grandchildren are safe with her. The "worst" that ever happened is when she was wagging her tail, it the face of our granddaughter but she laughed about that. Feylin can be impressed by a loud angry voice, asking her in with a soft friendly voice is mostly all she needs. If she doesn't listen right away, then a disappointed sound in my voice is enough to get her attention again. ”

Rocky Mountain Shilohs Presents: The Cyan/Jack Litter!

8 puppies (4 males, 4 females) born Feb. 26, 2020!

Cyan is our gorgeous, cuddly girl from Atara and Koal’s second litter. Jack (Riverwind’s Moonshine and Roses, aka Jack) is from Riverwind’s Ruby-Obi litter. Cyan is a wonderful combination of her parents Atara and Koal, both in temperament and conformation. Koal’s parents, Ginger and Piston, have both been Grand Victrix and Grand Victor respectively, and Atara’s sire, Rocky, is a therapy dog who has helped numerous children with their reading skills. Cyan’s family home schools their children, and Cyan is right in the middle of all that learning!

Jack is a therapy dog and has been going into schools with his owner since he was a puppy to help children with their reading skills, just like Rocky. Read more about Jack’s therapy work here. In addition to being a therapy dog, Jack has done agility work, and has even learned to paddle board with some of his humans!

Both Cyan and Jack are people-oriented, with calm temperaments, and we expect that to come through in their puppies, along with that famous Shiloh sense of humour, and great intelligence. We expect to see good size with medium to heavy bone, really nice ears, and outstanding movement. Both Cyan and Jack have wide muzzles, and we hope to see Cyan’s beautiful blocky head carry through. Jack’s agility in paddle boarding with his people is not a genetic trait, but it shows a Shiloh can be trained to paddle board, so hopefully one of these puppies will follow in Jack’s paw prints.

The puppies have plush coats, and we expect varying shades of brown, grey, and possibly black sable.

Litter whelped and raised on an acreage near Minneapolis, Minnesota. Puppies will be ready for their new homes as of April 23rd.

Guardian Kennels Presents: Eleiko-Arkan/Django

After the incredible success of the Eleiko/Django litter last spring, we thought it would be a shame to not repeat the pairing. But in order to bring some new genetics into our program, we decided to throw a bit of a twist into the mix and breed a dual-sired litter with Arkan.
The Eleiko/Django pairing represents the culmination of our breeding program at Guardian Kennels. Every dog that has come through our program is represented in the combination of Eleiko and Django and, as a breeder, it doesn’t get much more satisfying than that!

Eleiko’s focused, exuberant personality will bring some character to these pups. Her strong structure and width of body exemplify many of the goals that we aim for in our breedings.

Django brings to the match incredible length of leg and wolf-like movement along with strong hips and a rock solid disposition.

But as a breeder, we are always looking to the future and Arkan, from Echo Shilohs in Indiana seemed like a great choice to bring some new genetics to our program and to the Northwest.
Arkan’s beautiful grey sable colouring along with his small ears, beautiful top line and outstanding athleticism will make these pups traffic stoppers.

We expect very confident, athletic, outgoing pups with size and substance. No couch potatoes here. Pups from this combination will be all plush in various shades and colours of dual and sable. Solid blacks are not expected as Eleiko does not carry the black recessive.

All pups will be DNA tested to determine parentage.

These pups will be whelped and raised at Guardian Kennels. Pregnancy has been confirmed. Pups expected March 17, 2020. Very limited room on this litter depending on litter size, sire grouping and gender ratio.

Guardian Kennels Presents: Matsu/Django

With the return of Matsu to our pack, we are excited to see what she can add to our breeding program. Her flashy golden sable colouring along with her lovely topline and beautiful head should create pups that will turn some heads. Her inviting smile and exceptional willingness to please should make these pups very people oriented and trainable.

Django, again, brings to the match incredible length of leg and wolf-like movement along with strong hips and a rock solid disposition.

The pups from this pairing should have some lovely size! With Matsu at roughly 30” and Django pushing 33”, the size genes should be locked in.
We are expecting all plush pups with colors varying from light sable to much darker hues. No solid whites or solid blacks are expected.

These pups will be whelped and raised at Guardian Kennels. Breeding completed in late March.

Dutch Pride Presents: Floki/Maddox

On May 10, 2020, Mother’s Day, Floki had a date with Maddox. Four weeks later, an ultrasound confirmed that puppies are on the way. This litter will be born in Germany. This litter is spoken for.

Maddox is a sweet, curious, and protective dog, who gets along well with other dogs, both large and small dogs, when walking around, but he will never lose sight of us.

He also walks well on a leash, usually a few meters in front of us, sniffs a lot and keeps an eye and ear on his surroundings. Occasionally he will go after a running cat but will come back to you very soon.

At home he gets along well with most of our cats, but some of our older males prefer to avoid him (find him too big).

Cyclists and cars or other people passing by is no problem.

He is a sensitive dog, who is easily impressed by a raised voice. He does fine by being consistent and handled with a soft hand.

He can be left alone very well and often sleeps in the garden. Car trips are also no problem. He’s is really a teddy bear, he would prefer to lie on your lap, but with a height of 83 cm and a weight of 62 kg unfortunately that is not possible.

DP’s Shield Maiden Floki FCS (Floki)

Our Floki is a very relaxed girl. We were amazed how cool she took it when we picked her up from Fishercrane Shilohs, North Carolina, drove 500 miles to Pennsylvania, with overnight stay in a motel, although she was car sick every day. When she was a puppy, she has always been good at telling us, when she needed to go out. Accidents in the happened, because we were not listening. After the holiday we all spent with friends, we had to fly back to Germany, when we picked her up after an 8 hrs flight, she jumped out of her box, just like she last saw us 5 minutes ago.

She is very good with people, children and other dogs. She can open doors, which was an advantage when all three dogs had to be in a kennel for a few days and Jade escaped. Floki took Saga by the paw, opened the doors were the kennel owners live and both stood in the middle of the room to tell them something was wrong. She also has tried to calm her friends Runa and Jade down, when they were fighting a bit.

And she can count up to 3 when I couldn’t. One night I let the girls out in the garden, I thought all were back in the house and went back to bed. Floki was restless and trying to tell me something, so I got up to let her out again and found Jade outside at the door. Floki was happy when everybody was back in the house.

She is very relaxed, very friendly and very intelligent, very loving and very well behaved. She has a very easy care fur, as she does not have a thick undercoat.

She loves to play fetch, throws the balls in front of us so we come and play with her. She is very easy walking on and off the lead.

What can we say, she is just wonderful!

Jewel Shilohs Presents: Lykai/Koda OUTCROSS

Koda is the second outcross male to use the International Shiloh Shepherd Alliance to increase the genetic diversity of our breed.

Koda has passed all health tests with flying colors. The test to assess his genetic diversity showed that he is also an excellent genetic choice for our Shiloh Shepherd.

Again, the choice fell on a male from a different breed group than the shepherd, which mainly has to do with the addition of new genetic material. The origin of the Samoyed is different from that of the shepherd, so they are also genetically different from the shepherd.

The temperament of Koda and Lykai matches. They are both laid-back, intelligent dogs. They are social towards humans and animals and get along well with children. Both can walk independently and listen well.

The Samoyed used to be used as a "heating" at night. Unlike, for example, the Huskies who had to spend the night outside, the Samoyed slept with their owners in the igloo to keep the children and adults warm. Their friendly, social character is therefore anchored in their genes.

In addition to their social, confident temperament, the Samoyed has other positive points, such as: small shapely ears, a broad head and a broad chest. We hope to see this with the puppies.

Of course there are also downsides: Koda is 57 cm, with that he is smaller than the Shiloh, in action he carries the tail on his back, his color is white with biscuit we have to wait and see how this inherits, Koda has no distychiasis, but this is for the Samoyed, we will also have to pay attention to this.

An exciting time is dawning. Of course, first of all if the mating is successful and if so the puppies: they will give us what we hope for!

Sentinel Shilohs Presents: Chassis/Diesel OUTCROSS

Announcing the breeding of the US/Canada outcross between Diesel and Victory’s Sassy Chassis of DPS from Sentinel Shilohs.

Diesel was recommended by a Malamute breeder who told Shani and Mike that she loves Shilohs and knew Tina. She did not have the time to work with us herself, but pointed to a breeder she had mentored who had a magnificent giant Malamute named Diesel.

Diesel’s temperament is atypical for the Malamute his owner describes him as the leader of the pack he will just sit back and watch but if he need to intervene he is there to break up the chaos. He take things in stride is very mellow and low energy. After 30 minutes of play he is content to rest. He Is good with kids and seems to know the difference and even at his size is very gentle. He is good with people but he will let you know if he is unhappy by talking “whoo whoo” appears to be language of choice. He had never seen cats but at the vet there were 2 cats In cages and he just sniffed the crate and ignored.

Chassis is more high energy and happy go lucky out of the box Shiloh. She is smart with little prey drive. She is well mannered with a more submissive temperament. She has the perfect Shiloh coat easy to manage, she has size behind her as shown In her off spring. Chassis has the correct plush coat to counter the heavy Malamute coat. She brings quick intelligence, excellent movement and trainability to Diesel, and he brings large bone, height and width of build to her. Both have small ears.

We are hoping to get large size, with diesels chest and front , and laid back personality with Chassis’s sense of humor , love of life, and beautiful movement and coat. We are hoping to bring back the undercoat we are losing that Tina claimed came from the malamute.

We would like to see these pups to go to homes that are invested in the health and betterment of the breed. All pups will need to go through strict health testing and 1-2 will be hopefully chosen to create the F2 generation. Bringing back the Shiloh type with the health and diversity from the mal.

Echo Shilohs Presents: Salem/Blu

Salem is a fantastic girl, who fits right in anywhere. She greets people with a wagging tail, has a huge smile on her face when being petted. Salem is very versatile, loves her daily walks and going hiking. She gets along well with her tiny housemate, a terrier mix and loves to lick the cats in the face. She believes everyone is her friend and has no qualms going up and saying hi. Salem lives for cuddling in your lap and belly rubs. Salem has produced some confident pups, and I expect this litter to be much of the same.
